It seems like refreshing breeze on a Mid summer's Afternoon !!..
Ya....! I Feel like it Cuz i know the pains i went thru in getteing my self verified by Ecfmg...WTH...Its a 2 month process almost!During our days of snail mail ....It used to take 2 months for this process...Now ECFMG seems to wokeup and updated its barbaric Methods Of Verification Process...My Friend Got verification Twice and even ECFMG withheld his Step1 Scores Until they got his Status verified..After that before feeling a sigh of relief he again got Status letter for which he had to verify again !!!...
Coming to the Point ...From its recent newsletter from Ecfmg(Issue 126--Read that HERE)..We came to know that on its website...It Introduced a new feature called... EMSWP ECFMG Medical School Web Portal..Through which International Medical schools (Ya especially for them) can verify the status of an ECFMG applicant....
Procedure is...
1)The Medical Colleges apply to the ECFMG EMSWP administrator for User Id to Gain access to the EMSWP system..by applying to emswpadmin@ecfmg.org (I tried to login with my id but i failed ;-) )
2)Next when the examinee applies online for the first time at the end of applying he will be indicated whether his college participates in this program will be provided with a one time CIN Form-candidate Identification Form / Certification statement depending on his graduation status (U know what it is if u have applied as a graduate ...Read abt my forms HERE)
3)Once The CIN form accepted by ECFMG it stays valid for the next following 5 years
4) The examinee can take steps directly from the IWA online without any need to submit further Identification forms everytime he applies for an exam..
5)so the Scheduling permits come fast and makes the entire process a Breeze !
The bad thing is ECFMG will not register a student for an examination until after the medical school verifies that the student is enrolled and has completed/will complete the basic medical science component of the medical school curriculum ...It will affect his selected Eligibility Period if this process gets late ...and u know there is no deadline for this verification process !!and colleges can take their OWN TIME !.

Hi I have heard that u can give d step 1 exam without verification but u need to get verified first for getting the results.plz clarify

My two frnds gave their step 1 exam n r waiting for verification n they hvnt got their results yet (been more than a month)
